FAQ

Registration

Why should I register?
Because that lets you have your own profile page and also player pages, presented in a clear and structured way to let other clubs know about you better.

Is registration free?
Yes.  You can register here

What happens after I register?
We check the data you have sent us against official data sources to confirm the basic information you gave us.  After that, we will ask you for digital copies of certifications and company documents to confirm that you are the organization you claim to represent.  This is to protect the organization from being falsely represented.

What happens if I cannot provide a company registration document?
In principle we will reject your registration until you can provide one.  It could be the document is lost, so in that case you will have to send us a letter (not an email), addressed to us and signed by the Chairman or President of the organization on formal headed paper attesting it exists.

What happens if I cannot provide certification with our national football federation?
It is not good for you if you are not affiliated and certified with your national football federation.  It means to the rest of the world that you are not, and cannot be, of good caliber, and so your players won’t be either.  If we accept your registration (snd most times we won’t) then we will clearly flag the fact your are not certified or affiliated with the federation.

What happens if my certification has expired?
We will allow some extra time for you to get that sorted out, but if it is not done quickly then we will flag your certification with the federation has expired.

Why was my registration rejected?
You either clearly used incorrect or false information on your registration, or we found in our background checks that the information was clearly not right, or you submitted the registration with a really weird spammy email address.

Can I register more than one account?
Only one account per club, academy or intermediary needed, so only one allowed.

Can I delete my profile at any time?
Yes you (as the organization) can do that at any time. Your fee will expire at the end of the subscription period.

Log in and Settings

Why can’t I login?
Right now for the simplest of reasons – we have not implemented a log-in procedure yet. When we do, we will create a proper system, with email ID, password and recover password functions. If you have registered but cannot login please check your user name and your password. All new created accounts will need to be activated by an administrator, which could take some time.

How will I change settings or profile information?
Your own data will be easily and quickly changed under “User profile”.

Will I be able to change my username?
The username will be email address based.  To change that (because for example another user is responsible) the current user should email us with answers to questions we will provide at the time.  Changing the username will cost £10, which we will donated to youth development fund.

Club/Academy/Intermediary Profiles

How do I enter my organization details?
We will send you a link to an online form that will guide your through that.  You will need to have prepared all the information necessary, data, logos, images, photos and links to videos.  Look at the form first (or any published profile) to get an idea of what’s needed. This might be a two step process as you gather everything together. We will review what you send, and if we have any questions we will email you.

Why are you asking for consent to use photos, images and logos?
We need written confirmation from you that we are allowed to use the photo, logo image for free and for an unlimited period. It is very important that the copyrights of the organization, photographer and graphic designer are respected and that the permission is allowed, as published in our Legal Notice.

How do I make updates and corrections?
We will send you a link to an online form for filling in data to be updated or corrected. We will review what you send, and if we have any questions we will email you.

What if we have no achievements, partners or sponsors?
Then there is no need to have those sections in the page. When you do, they can be added later, no problem. If you would like to have some partners and sponsors please contact SoccerExpo Services directly, as we may be able to help you.

Must I add Key Staff details and photos?
Not you don’t – this section can be used or not, as you prefer.

Must I add all our players?
If you are using this as your only web page (i.e. you don’t have your own website) then yes, because you want to show your full strength (though not all players need their own pages). If you have your own website, then it is best just to list the ones you believe have real talent and can be signed/transferred to another club.

Must I add the contract type and value?
It is what scouts and recruitment managers look for – is the player signable, and what is the player worth?  You will be asked. These data are what makes other directories valuable.  If you don’t add this, then you reduce the change of the player being recruited.

When will I see the profile, updates and corrections updated in the Directory?
You won’t see them immediately as they have to be checked first. Due to the high volume of activity, it can take some time to see the data.

Why can’t I see the organization profile page?
Probably because you have not renewed the subscription, so it is suspended, or you have cancelled it.

Player Profiles

How do I enter player details?
We will send you a link to an online form that will guide your through that.  You will need to have prepared all the information necessary, data, logos, images, photos and links to videos.  Look at the form first (or any published profile) to get an idea of what’s needed. This might be a two step process as you gather everything together.  We will review what you send, and if we have any questions we will email you.

Why are you asking to see a copy of the contract with the player?
Because we need to be sure the player is contracted with you.  If you can’t provide a contract, then we will need a written statement by the player (letter, not email) signed by him and notarized, confirming there is an agreement between you.  If you don’t have a contract with the player, and would like one, then speak to our colleagues at SoccerExpo Services, and they can help you.

Why are you asking for type of contract and signing/transfer value?
So others can see when the player could be available and what his/her current value is.  Its two of the first questions a recruitment manager will ask, if he/she is interested in the player.

Why are you asking for consent to use photos and images?
We need written confirmation from you that we are allowed to use the photo or image for free and for an unlimited period. It is very important that the copyrights of the photographer and graphic designer are respected and that the permission is allowed, as published in our Legal Notice.

What happens if I have no videos to add to the profile?
Everyone tells us this is a problem. This is a big challenge for you, and an even bigger one for the player.  Recruitment managers in clubs faraway desperately need to see the player in action, and that has to be in a competitive professional match, with good video, and close up.  The type TV stations take.  That’s what WyScout offers, which is why it charges a lot of money for a subscription.  Do your best.  Get some bright guys form the local media agency to take some as a test of their skills. If you have no videos, or they are small, grainy and show little, then don’t even bother.

What happens if I have no photos to add to the profile?
If this is a big challenge for you, then you aren’t doing your players a service.  It is easy to take a photo with a smartphone. Just make it maximum size so it can be used.  No photos, then don’t bother listing the player (and tell him/her why not).

What if the player has no achievements?
Then there is no need to have that section in the page. When the player does, the section can be added later, no problem.

What if the player has not played for the national team?
Then there is no need to have that section in the page. When the player does, the section can be added later, no problem.

Can I add performance data?
Yes absolutely, at a year level. Any more detailed is for later. That’s going to be one of the most difficult things to do with clubs in Africa as match records per player simply aren’t kept.  That’s a pity because its really useful for recruitment mangers to know about.  Without that, the best you can hope for will be a trial, with option to sign.

Can I add illness and disciplinary data?
Not yet, but we will add these sections soon.

How do I make updates and corrections?
We will send you a link to an online form for filling in data to be updated or corrected. We will review what you send, and if we have any questions we will email you.

When will I see the profile, updates and corrections updated in the Directory?
You won’t see them immediately as they have to be checked first. Due to the high volume of activity, it can take some time to see the data.

Why is a player I registered with you assigned to a different club?
Because the player has been signed with a different club, as you told us (or should have told us).

I can see a player who plays with our club listed as a player for another club.
Get in touch with us immediately.

Why can’t I see a player page?
For data protection reasons we are not allowed to publish details of players who are under age.  The other reason is because you have not renewed your subscription, so your own profile is suspended.
