Bechem United Football Club is a premier division club and a fully fledged member of the Ghana Football Association. The club until recently an unknown entity in Ghana Football has been in existence since 1966.
Bechem, a town along the Kumasi–Sunyani Road is the home to Bechem United Football Club. The town belongs to the Ahafo divide of the Brong Ahafo region. Bechem United is the only premier division club in the whole Ahafo.
Founded from the merger of two rival teams, Sailors and Vipers, the club though modest has produced some great stars that featured for Kumasi Asante Kotoko. Prominent among them are Moro Gariba and Nana Koffi.
In July 2007, Bechem United became the first division club to embark on a training tour in Europe. Their impressive outing at the tour gained them a ticket to partake in the II Trofeo Karol Wojtyla. This tournament is played in memory of the late Pope John Paul II. It was the first time an African team participated in the under 19 tournament.
Currently, Bechem United qualified into Ghana premier division league With a group of talented young payers.
The club sees it self as a premiership side playing in the division one league and is therefore relishing qualification to the elite division of Ghana football.
The club has plans for an Academy, one major reason being all academies in the country are in the southern part of the country. Surprisingly, most of the best soccer talents the country has ever produced come from the northern part of the country. We believe it will be the most successful academy, since majority of the players in the northern part of the country will end up in our School
